A Brief Refresher on Mercedes A Class

Mercedes-Benz A Class is a subcompact executive car. It is considered to be the entry level model of the discerning Mercedes vehicles.

The 2019 A Class hatchback belonging to the Mercedes-Benz brand was first showcased at an event in Amsterdam on the 2nd of February, 2018. The brand-new A Class model features an all-new design and is more spacious than its older counterpart due to its larger dimensions.

Mercedes-Benz 2019 A Class is the first class coming under the Mercedes line-up that is equipped with the state-of-the-art MBUX (an AI-based infotainment system). Other features found in the new A Class model include a range of high-end driver assistance systems, including active brake assist, active lane change assist, emergency stop assist, and distance assist. While there has been no news about the launch of this Mercedes-Benz vehicle in India, it is expected to be ready for sale in India sometime soon. 

Mercedes A Class in India 

At the moment, the third generation of A Class is available in India. This vehicle can be availed in two variants: A180 Sport and A 200 CDI. 

The A Class vehicle model is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel and a 1.6-litre petrol engine. While its diesel engine can give 136PS/300Nm, its petrol variant has the capacity to produce 122PS/200Nm. Both of these engines have a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. As the engines of these cars are fairly powered, the A Class models provide for a smooth drive on the highway, as well as in a busy city.

The premium features that Mercedes A Class comes complete with include Garmin navigation, an 8-inch infotainment screen along with a 20 CD changer, panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, push-button start, and rear parking camera among many others. 
Like all Mercedes-Benz vehicles, there are best-in-class safety features available in the A class as well. These include acceleration skid control, electronic stability, attention assist, adaptive braking, ABS, and six airbags.
